Today I received a horrid email informing me that what I was doing with regards to this site, was quite frankly wrong (I put that politely, the person who sent the email did not). The person in question also 'advised' me to delete the site. This is not the first time this has happened, which leads me to believe that they must have all come from the same (anonymous) person.

I would like to make a few things absolutely clear:

1. I do not believe that I have done anyone any harm by creating this site - there are countless others on the web, even ones which include graphic details regarding River's death, and even worse still - ones which include the coffin picture, when they are 'supposed' to be tribute sites.

2. I receive many other emails from lovely people, who thank me for creating it.

3. I DO NOT make money from the site, and NEVER would - anyone with half a brain can see that there is NOTHING within the site that generates any income for myself or anyone else. Furthermore, I DO NOT ask for or accept donations towards the running of the site - there is NO donate button anywhere within the site, and NEVER will be.

4. NO, I do not know if any of River's family has seen, or even heard of the site. However, if they have, I hope that they see it in the same way as the majority of others do.

I created angel-river.net over 4 years ago after discovering yet another 'negative' site. I have been a fan of River's since the age of 11, and was deeply saddened by his passing, just like so many others. All I have ever wanted to do is ensure that River is remembered in the way that he would WANT to be remembered.

I must admit, that after reading today's email, I was ready to chuck all of this away and let this anonymous person win. But that was a gut reaction - I was upset. Now, I feel differently - Yes, I am still upset over it - but NO, I will not bow down to one narrow-minded, evil little twit (I could have put something else there), who obviously has nothing else better to do.

So, on that note, let me please take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported angel-river.net over the last few years, and those who appreciate it. I am extremely grateful to all of you.

This site will stay, as long as I am breathing.
